Timber, Look out below!!

Time – 12:18 PM

Woohoo! Wednesday is my weekday day off from summer school. Summer school has been pretty good so far, due the fact that I still understand what is happening in the class.

I woke up today and my dad asked me to help him remove some cupboards at his job site. Since I did not have anything planned to do at that moment, I decided to help him out. So I went to his jobsite and help him hold the cupboards up, so that it won’t fall on him. Consequently, the cupboard did not fall on him but fell on me. To be precise, it fell on my back; so right now, I have a bruised back.

Not much has happened for the past week. I live in a quite dull life. >___<

Oh, an interesting happening that happened to me last Tuesday is that Me and my classmates decided to try out the echo monument outside the Buchanan building in UBC. At first, we were quite embarassed to go up the ”echo machine” because we would look idiotic. But after some few hesitations, we decided to go up the ”echo machine” and see if it really works. To my surprise, it actually works!

Anyhow, I will end my post here as I plan to get ready and change for some basketball shootaround with Justin and Peter. Later days!

PS. My new laptop arrived. oh joy =)

Better late than never.

Okay, I know this is a week late, but it is better late than never. I’m talking about writing a journal entry on my last week’s one-night cruise. One-night cruise, ironic isn’t it? But heck, for the price of about $100 for tons of food/lodging/show and a trip back to Vancouver, it was pretty worth it.

Well my mom decided to bring the family (sans Jasiel because she took part in her school play) to a tiny small cruise to Seattle and head back home the next morning. She decided to do this so we (me and my brother) can experience what it feels like to be in a gigantic cruise. We went on the Norwegian Star. It was only a 4-Star cruise, but it was not too bad. The only thing that was horrible on the trip was the amount of time it took us to get on board. For some odd reason, it took us three-and-a-half hours to lineup and get through the immigrations/customs.

Funny story, whenever I pass through a metal detector, the alarm would beep. EVERY SINGLE TIME. That happened when I went to Vegas last summer as well. It must be because of my pure stupidity, because I always forget to take out my wallet, or remove my metal belt. >___<”

The venue itself was not too bad. The washroom was pretty neat, other than the toilet being cramped (ie. when you are using the john, you are facing one side of the wall already). The bedroom was not too bad as we had a balcony connected to it. It was pretty refreshing to sit and relax in the balcony as the winds blow past your face. The ship had some nice stuff as well, they have a theater (which I never went in to), library, basketball hoop, pingpong tables, water slides, hot tubs, casino and tons of nice lounges.

The whole experience itself was not too bad. Lots of food in the cruise. It was good times to get fat and be merry. We also decided to watch the show they offered. Consequently, I was not too impressed with the show. It was called “Cirque Pacific” and it was pretty much people dancing. I personally found it quite boring other than the three main performers who took the spot. One girl was a terrific spinner, One guy was a terrific and the other guy was a terrific balancer.

After the whole cruise, we headed back home to what-was-supposed-to-be-a-trip-back-to-the-airport but the bus headed back to Canada place. So we decided bus home with the 98B-Line.

That same evening, our family went to watch my sister’s school play, the Wizard of Oz. Quite an embarrassing story is the fact that I never saw or read the story of the play, so when my brother’s friend asked me something about the plot, I was completely clueless. *sigh*  The play itself was better than I thought. Based on my past experience with school drama, I thought this play was the best play that Steveston has ever hosted. It was really funny and I enjoyed it.

Anyways, I will end my post here as I am running late to my Saturday morning basketball.  Thank goodness the place located only across my house. Later days!

PS. I will upload some pictures later!

new laptop?

1 05 2007

Time 11:34 PM

At the current moment, I believe that I am getting a new laptop. I bought a 14.1 inch dell inspiron 640m (I think) for less than $800, with tax included. It is quite cheap due to the fact it is based on a pricing error. We (me and my brother) ordered it at around 2AM yesterday hoping that our order gets accepted, because we were pretty sure it was a pricing error. I woke up this morning and went to check the dell site once again, to my amazement, it now costs about $1040 without tax. So right now, I am quite estatic to receive the laptop, even though it looks almost identical as my current 15.4 inch dying laptop.

It comes with microsoft vista, so I’m hoping that I could use that laptop for the next 3 to 5 years. I heard Vista is really annoying and not that good of an operating system, but heck, I want the new alt-tab feature.
