I hate thee Human Geography
15 01 2009I don’t know why, but human geography is starting to piss me off. It sucks that I am majoring in Geography, intending to study and learn the physical aspects of it, but forced to take up human geography. I’m currently taking the Human Geography of Asia, and its worrying me on how I am going to pass the course. I’ve tried to keep up with the class readings, but it just doesnt help. Actually, let me rephrase that. I’ve attempted to keep up with my readings but to no avail. I am assigned to read about 40 to 70 pages per week, but I haven’t finished even one article. I tried reading it, but nothing sticks to my head. I’ve already taken Geog 121 and 122 (Geography of Modernity … which is essentially an introduction to Human Geography) and learned that the human aspect of geography is not my cup of tea. I don’t know how I will ever survive this course. The course itself is based on 3 essays that I have to hand. 1 “short” essay (12 pages), 1 take home midterm essay and 1 take home final essay. I was quite shocked to hear that a “short” essay consists of 12 pages. The longest paper I’ve written is 10 pages, and thats with some modifications with the formatting already! I wonder what the take home exams would be like. 20 pages? Oh someone save me.

On The Wing (ODB)
15 01 2009It’s good to know that the God who cares for us never loses track of us. In fact, Jesus said that not even one sparrow “falls to the ground apart from [God’s] will. . . . Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows” (Matt. 10:29-31).
When we face difficult circumstances, fear may cause us to wonder if God is aware of our situation. Jesus’ teaching assures us that God cares deeply and is in control. His tracking of our lives will never fail.
