YAF Ice Skating

We went iceskating at the Minoru Ice Rink tonight as a fellowship event. We were missing a lot of people from fellowship but it was still fun.  It was really crowded though, compared to last time I went skating (last week at no.6 road Richmond Ice Centre … about 15 people only!). The rink was jam packed with kids and other people; Cornerstone people was there too! so it was actually nice seeing some familiar faces skating with us. 

I only fell once tonight while skating. I landed on both of my knees too!  so….  I’m pretty sure it’ll be bruised tomorrow.  daaaang. I guess tonight’s skating could’ve been a little better (had there been less people), but I really can’t complain. I’m not a big iceskater myself …  I don’t even know how to brake hehe.  I don’t have the rights to say such things HAHA ….. Maybe I should take up skating as a hobby. I actually want to learn how to skate backwards. Hmmm…. goal by the end of the year: learn how to skate backwards…. hmm, actually, learn how to brake hehe. =)

After skating, a bunch of us decided to go walk 1 lap around the minoru track for fun. The new field in the middle of the track looks really nice. I wish I could’ve taken a picture of it as a memento. It looked really nice, like a scene from Friday Night Lights. Maybe I should go to the track more often.

Failed surprise + Yavis Club.

Today was Becky’s birthday, and a bunch of my church people decided to surprise her after work at Kumon. It resulted to one of the weakest surprises in the history of mankind, because she didn’t act surprised at all. When she saw us, she basically walked away. Wow, fail haha. =.=” … We headed to a cheesecake/desserts restaurant called Yavis Club afterwards. The place was really small, but it looked really fancy. It had a nice ambience inside; they had some cool decorations around the place (eg. the Red wall – pic above*).

I had a mango glacier cheesecake. (Glacier cheesecake is pretty much icecream cake or a frozen cheesecake). It was really good but really pricey… $5.25 + tax for a small slice of cheesecake. daaang. I guess its okay to splurge on expensive food once in awhile, but I dont see myself going back in the not-so-distant future. Just toooooo expensive.

The Olympic Oval is sexy

I finally went to the Olympic Oval today. It was my first time and I was impressed. There was (obviously) a speed skating rink, 4 basketball hoops, weighlifting gym equipments, badminton nets and soccer goal/posts inside the arena. Very very sexy and nice inside.  Even the change room was sexy (well, compared to Steveston’s old change room haha).  I wished I could’ve roamed around the area more and take more pictures, but we went there to play basketball.

The basketball hoops were nice, but the floor was really dusty/slippery; it had the NBA-court feel though, because it was really shiny.  It felt really weird playing there though, so much space compared to RCS gym. The gym didn’t feel so cramped up. There was too much lighting too; it was so bright that it makes you feel dizzy after a while.

My friend Justin invited me to play since today was the last day for free admission with an online coupon (apparently, regular drop in price is $12). Basketball was pretty fun. Juss, Jama, Jackie, Wonger, and Jama’s friend came to play; and we played against some random people. We played for almost 3 hours, so I pretty much died. I cramped up on the last half hour. X_X.

Anyway, I shall end my post here. Getting really tired, and my leg still feels cramped up. I need to get some rest, or else I’ll die in class tomorrow. Goodnight.
