Summer to-do list task #28: Go on a mini road trip. Check.

My family decided to go Kewlona because my sister wanted to go visit/hang out with her TWU classmates. Since her friend is somewhat hosting a mini get-together at her place in Kewlona, my sister wanted to go. My sister was supposed to get a ride from her classmate who lives in Vancouver, but ended up backing out. Since my parents did not really my sister to bus allll the way to Kewlona, my parents decided to drive her there.

My mom decided to make it a family trip, since shes been itching for a looong time for a small family vacation. Lala decided to tag along because my mom invited her. So it was the 6 of to Kewlona.

The trip to Kewlona took about 5 hours of driving, with a short stop-by at Home Depot.

There’s not really much to do in Kewlona. We only went to Downtown Kewlona. They had a beach there, since downtown was located at the edge of the land… similar to Steveston Village/Garry Point Park in Richmond. The beach there was pretty nice. It’s a looooot better looking that Garry Point Park, plus clearwater! *sigh* I wish Richmond would have something similar.

There’s not really much in downtown Kewlona  (or maybe we just didn’t research anything about Kewlona). We just walked around for a few hours. After that, we decided to go to The Grand Okanogan Hotel, where Winter Con was. My family decided to go the Casino area, since we haven’t been there before. The casino sucks, well… at least compared to Las Vegas standards. haha 

We didn’t go to any wineries because of the lack of time…. not that it matters to me, because I don’t drink. haha

All-in-all, the trip was not bad. Short trip, but it was pretty fun. We got to take some time off our “busy” lives and just chill. Good times. hehe =)

Summer to-do list task #2: Vancouver Aquarium. Check.

I decided to go to Vancouver Aquarium since it was one of my summer to-do list, but also because the ticket prices are about to get jacked up for summer. Tourism Vancouver sure knows how to make money!! :@

I went with my sister, Jackie and Chris, since they were the only ones free. Since I planned for the trip, I decided to drive there as well. A somewhat common courtesy, but also because I wanted to try driving outside Richmond. I’ve been so secluded in Richmond, that I’m trying to step outside of my comfort zone one step at a time. It was my first time driving to Stanley Park area (Vancouver Aquarium is right beside the park), so I was a little scared … Thank goodness for GPS though, I didn’t get lost hehe.

I don’t really remember much about the trip, since I’m blogging about it 2 weeks late (*changed the blog entry date to appropriate day though)…  but the whole  trip there was pretty awesome. I got to see some pretty funky animals, and enjoy some shows…and of course, I got to see the sea otters. So frickin’ cute. I want one for a pet heheh…

Also, the Beluga whale apparently gave birth a few weeks back, so I was pretty lucky to see the baby beluga. It took awhile to get a chance to see the baby beluga though… there was a huuuuge line up, which took about 30-45 minutes. *Sigh* quite not worth the wait, but since we were there, why waste the opportunity??

After Vancouver Aquarium, we decided to head to FLO tea for a late lunch/snacks. Surprisingly, the restaurant looks pretty nice… not what I really expected since the place used to be a porn rental place. >_>

Summer to-do list task #6: make sushi / rice ball. half check. Only half check because I didn’t make sushi.

I’ve been meaning on making some onigiris (rice ball) for the past week, but I’ve been lazy. Since I didn’t have anything planned today, I decided to make some today.

Its relatively easy to make these rice balls. The only tricky part is the molding/rolling process. Consistency within the whole rice ball - meaning, the topping (tuna) is evenly spread inside – is pretty hard to do. Maybe with more practice I can roll them better, but I don’t see myself doing this often. Its essentially rice and tuna and seaweed rolled in to a ball, so why go through all the effort of rolling/molding? hehehe… But I must admit though, it was pretty fun making these rice balls. You get to play and decorate your food =)

Another year passed by, another birthday surprise. This one totally came out of nowhere because my birthday was a week ago.

So heres how the surprise went. My brother asked me to play smackdown vs raw with him on ps3. Being a fan of wrestling video games, I decided to play with him just to test it out (I already played it in the psp hehe). Lala then asked if she could close the door on the guest room (where we were playing), because she wanted to watch Supernatural in the living room. So she closed the door……I went on to play SvR with Jerg, and apparently people came from the back door to go upstairs to my room. So I kept playing the game, then all of a sudden, my sister called me to say that something went wrong with my computer. She asked me to go upstairs to check whats wrong with it. So I went up, opened my door, and was surprised by about 15 people inside my room. I was totally surprised to see them because totally didnt expect them to be there. I mean, my birthday was a week ago.

Looking back, I could’ve figured out that something was up because I knew that Supernatural season was done airing for the year. GG.

I went bowling again today. This time with  my sister, Jackie, Sandra and Win only. It was pretty fun. We played two games. I got 77 and 147, respectively. I beat my old personal best of 103. yay!

During the first game, I tried to put some spin on my throw/roll… but being the newbie that I am, I clearly failed… Hence, I got a “low” score.

These past few days have been like a rot. Life is pretty “depressing”… not to the point of suicidal or anything, but I think its just pretty sad hahaha. It seems like its always the same thing again and again and again. Eat, sleep, work (or school), and watch tv. I feel like I’m wasting life away. I am actually wishing that I could give a day of my life to someone who is dying or someone worthy of it… or to someone who can make a difference in the world.

I dont know, maybe I just have too much free time in my hands these past few days, and I’m not doing anything productive or significant. I feel like my life is lacking some meaning haha… maybe I need to find a new hobby or something. Something to keep me occupied. *sigh*

ok,  that was kind of “deep” and “profound.” This is too depressing and sad for me HAHA. Where’s the happy-go-lucky Jath? Jath is broken and pwned. HAHA

Summer to-do list task #8: Tennis. check.

Me, Jackie, Sandra and Erwin went to play tennis today. It took us quite awhile to find a court. We went to Odlin Park (and the other one), Ferndale (the “secret” one), Palmer, and Blundell to play; but all the courts were taken. So we decided to go to the one in Minoru/Gilbert. I heard this place is usually full because the tennis club is located there. I guess we were in luck when we got there because we got an open court.

It was pretty fun to play tennis once again. I haven’t played for over a year so I’m a little happy to be back on tennis grounds. I played pretty bad though, not saying that I was good before. Oh well, it feels really good to hit tennis balls and hear the ball hitting the sweet spot of a racquet once again.

hmmm … I want to try racquetball next time.

Summer to-do list task #19: Bowling. Check.

We had bowling night for fellowship this week. It was a joint fellowship with SALT and Young Pro, so it was pretty cool to hang around with them.

Bowling was at Lois Lanes this time, instead of the usual, The Zone in SilverCity. It was my first time there so it was kind’ve exciting. The place is a lot smaller and I think the lanes were shorter, but a loooot cheaper. $10 for 2 games and shoe rental.

I didn’t get a strike, but I think I did pretty good (at least to my standards). I remember that I usually bowl around the 70 point mark, so my goal that night was to beat that. I got 78 on my first game, and 103 on my second game. It was my first time surpassing the 100-point mark. wooot!

Apparently, people think that I have a good form in bowling. I am very graceful, apparently, when I bowl. Graceful like a gazelle…. except without the good results. hehe

100th wordpress post has to be special, hence, I reserved it to be an entry on my 22nd birthday.  I feel really old and unaccomplished in life. hehehe?? >_<”

anyways, I spent most of my birthday at school. I had my sport psych final that day, so I decided to go to school early to get some last minute(err.. more like hours) cramming. I got there at 12 noon, and left around 8pm.

The final exam was pretty sucky. It was pretty hard, tricky and tough. I’m pretty sure I did bad on it, but who cares, im done the course. I never really intended on taking that course, in the first place.

After the exam, I had a birthday party @ alleluia cafe. I didn’t want to have a huge party so I just asked the guys. It was pretty sausage hehehe. Afterwards, we headed to Juss’ house for the cake, but we ended up not eating it. I think everyone was still full from dinner. So we just chilled there and played ps3, while the others watched TV.
